Welcome!  Thanks for stopping by my site.  I never expected you to be here… I never really even planned to have a website — I was just a girl in Dallas, keeping my head down, following a new life path and building a house alone in a field… and then a few people learned what I was doing and wanted to help, and wanted to hear my story, and, well… here we are!  It’s been quite the adventure and I am humbled, and empowered, and so happy to be able to share it with you.  I am glad you are here.

After 26 years working as a litigation paralegal at a downtown law firm, I transitioned from a traditional, mainstream life to a new tiny life. I craved something new; a new path that combined my passions with a new career and my favorite blue jeans. I’m rebuilding my life—not from a fail, but with a new focus: What will make me happy in the second half of my life? What made me happy as a child, and why did I stop doing those things?

The Tiny House

The first chapter of my journey was my move from a “proper” dwelling into a tiny house built with my own two hands and the help of some amazing friends. Now well into day-to-day life of living in my new hyper-efficient, mobile residence, I’m continuing to make new discoveries everyday. Check out my build, my blog, and learn more about tiny housing and the dream of building a tiny house community in the other sections of my site.

Bigger Changes

Once I made the decision to change my life, my journey began to unfold in front of me, almost as though it wasn’t even my idea. It’s been surreal, the way things have gone, the people I have met, the connections I have made. When people ask me the long-term questions—where will you park? What work will you do? I can only say that I have ideas, and that I have faith that it will all work out. I know myself better now than I ever have, and I love who I am becoming!

Anyone can do this. Really. I created this website to prove it’s possible and to empower others to make the changes they believe in. It is my hope that you will use this website as a general guide to tiny housing, lifestyle repackaging, and conscious downsizing as a whole. Because if I can do it, so can you.
